From Beachside Bliss to La Vida Legacy

While we are waiting on the professional pictures of the condo, and the official launching of the website, we thought we would share a little about the transformation process. We’ve spent a few weekends getting things switched around, making it ours, and turning it into a place we would choose to rent. We feel like that’s what will make it the best place to stay!

Starting first with the……

Living Room

I loved this condo so much that we bought it without touring it. Our wonderful realtor Brian Mitchell and his wife Dixie (also a realtor) did tour it for us and gave us the go-ahead. It was a pretty great living room as it was, but I wanted to put my flair on it. I tried to repurpose as many items as possible and sell anything not needed on Marketplace. Our friends Donald and Nicole came down for a couple of days and helped us with the particulars. It helped to have 4 extra hands and a different set of eyes helping us to create our vision.

First, we rearranged the furniture in the living room. They had a table and chair on the shiplap wall at the entrance. We felt like it blocked the flow, so we moved the chair to the other side of the room and brought the table home to be repurposed.

#1. We also moved the curtain rods up several inches, and changed the drapery to a natural brushed linen. I like how it softens the room, but also allows the blues to pop in the artwork and pillows.

We moved the artwork around on the walls and added (#2) seagrass shades to the chandelier. It’s not in the budget to change out the light fixture right now, so the shades made it more coastal and less industrial.

We purchased some (#3-6) pillow covers (18×18 turquoise and cream, 20×20 blue and turquoise) from Amazon to help bring in our Modern Coastal Design. We reused pillows that were already in the unit and purchased a few other forms.

Not pictured is the new rug which will add so much color! Also not shown is the amount of games and books in the TV cabinet! I’ll try to add that to another post.

I can already tell this nook is going to be my favorite spot.

Everything in this area was repurposed, including the table. It was a bright turquoise and Nicole painted and distressed it to make it work until we can replace it. It works great in this spot.

I fell in love with these lamps on Amazon for several reasons; they fit the decor theme, they’re touch-activated, and they have a USB and USB-C plug-in at the base. It’s the perfect spot to read, and charge your phone!

This mirror is a staple. It’s the perfect option for when you don’t know what else to use. I have this in black at home and love the pop of gold in the living room here.
